2009 Marathon, Rolls Out With
$3000 of Prizes
Overview

Buzinews refreshes with a
new format, giving a wider stage to cartoons and
caricatures, alongside "news commentary" to notable
international events.

Comics and caricature artists from
around the world are invited to take part in this new
activity and have a positive influence on world opinion.

Once Again we will find away to
make surfers smile and enjoy the illustrations, without
use of violence, profanity or racist expressions.

Anybody who wants to send cartoons
for the first time must
sign up. If you have
already signed up to BuzziNews you do not need to do it
again.

Any
cartoonist can contact the
Buzzinews team
to ask questions and advise.
Monthly Competitions
-
BuzziNews will provide registered
cartoonists frequent updates regarding future topics
for the website and submission deadlines for the
various competitions in order to allow an equal
opportunity to all who wish to participate.

At the end of each month, the
cartoonist with the highest number of surfer credit
points will be chosen as the monthly winner. BuzziNews will filter and edit the cartoons and only
the very best will be staged on the website and
participate. The primary parameters that would be
taken in account are:

Does the Cartoon suit the
focus of the current edition of BuzziNews (as it
will be defined in the topic list sent to
registered members)?

The level of skill and
technique.

The first monthly competition in
2009, will include cartoons sent to BuzziNews until
January 30th 2009, the next competition
will include the cartoons sent on February and so
on.

Competition starts NOW.
How can I win?
The surfers decide. The winner will be the
cartoonist with the most surfer credit points summed
from all of his cartoons posted throughout the
duration of the monthly competition.
Awards:
-
The first place
winner of the monthly competition will receive a
certificate and a "Special Tribute Edition" dedicated to
his cartoons alone. The surfers' votes for his cartoons
will be summed up as credit points for the bi-annual
competition.

Second and
third place
will also receive a certificate. The surfers' votes for
their cartoons will be summed up as credit points for
the bi-annual competition.
Bi-Annual Competition
This year we have decided to split our
annual competition to two competitions: the first one will
begin on 1/1/09 and end at the end of July. The winners of
this competition will be announced at the end of July. The
second competition will begin on 1/7/09 and end at the end
of December 2009. The winners for the second competition
will be announced on January 2010.
How can I win?
The
surfers decide. The winner will be the cartoonist with
the most surfer credit points summed from all of his

annual competition.
Awards:
The Golden
Prize:
1000$ + a special BuzziNews
certificate and exposure in scores of
international media sites and publications.
The Silver Prize:
300$ + a special BuzziNews certificate and international
media exposure.
The Bronze Prize:
200$ and a special BuzziNews certificate
A Special Annual Award
The two winners of the biannual
competitions will complete for the best cartoonist of the
Year title. In January 2010 two special editions will be
staged on the website. Each one will have only the cartoons
by the bi annual winner. The surfers will be asked to vote.
The winner will receive a certificate and international
exposure.
